Learn in Order to Serve... I first heard the motto when I attended a small Midwest junior college. The amazing thing was, not only did the Latin script look good on the school's crest (S'instruire Pour Servir), but the concept was evident all around the campus. Professors, instructors and staff members made sure that students not only understood the theories in the classroom, but were also able to put them into practice in the lab and/or field. The Midwest Law Enforcement Training Institute is founded on that very same concept. I believe that law enforcement training should be conducted so that officers can go into the field and better perform their duties. Training should not exist to merely fill required training hours. Currently, the Midwest Law Enforcement Training Institute is in the "crawl before we walk" phase. Projects include publishing a training book, completing the first stage of the Police Report Writing Research Project and authoring several academic articles to law enforcement trade publications. We are also available to conduct in-service training and will soon host open registration programs at our Northwest Indiana campus. I am truly looking forward to accomplishing some great things with the Midwest Law Enforcement Training Institute, and I hope you will find our products and services as useful resources for your law enforcement training needs. Thank you for taking the time to explore our web site. Joe Wells Executive Director Midwest Law Enforcement Training Institute |
