A Time Line
1986
Began broadcasting at
Hobart High School
While at Vincennes University, I was allowed to combine projects
from my broadcast marketing and management courses with
projects from my small business management/entrepreneuership
courses.  The result was a 210 page "How-to" manual about
creating an independent regional sports network.
I interned at US Cable of
Northern Indiana (Merrillville)
while home from college in the
summer of 1990.  The sports
director moved on just after
my graduation in 1991 so I
slid right into the anchor seat
of the Channel 3 sports set
for three years.  I continued to
call the Friday Night Game of
the Week until 2001
when
Comcast cancelled the show

Definition:
AnnouncerJoe.com is an independent company that produces audio
and video sports programs for publication on the Internet, as well as live
announcing for various local radio stations and sports venues.

The most popular service of
AnnouncerJoe.com is the "live" audio
PodCast.  These programs are just like play-by-play radio shows, but fans
listen to them on the Internet, via their online server or download them to
a personal MP3 player.

AnnouncerJoe.com also produces video featurettes about showcasing
local sports programs and special events.
1990-1994
1992-1995
 Remember the course
projects that I did at VU?
Well, this was IT!!!
 The local radio stations in
NW Indiana were prime
locations to put the theories
into practice and it worked
very well for quite some time.
 We produced hundreds of
sports programs a year from
as many as six radio stations.
A general lack organizaiton/vision caused us to re-invent the
wheel well too often so I decided to hang up the microphone
for a while and worked on other professional opportunities.
1996-Current
It's sorta funny... seems like sports
announcing is one of those things that
you just can't quit!
I must admit that I didn't try very hard... but after leaving RRSN, the
freelance announcing jobs
just seemed to roll in one after the other.
I spent time at several local radio stations and even announced live
sports events.  I had a good time as the
"Voice of Illiana Motor
Speedway" in
Schererville, Indiana for three years.

Before PodCasting became commonplace, I put my own sports
programs on the Internet using a program called a "Talking
Website."  Sports Announcing became fun once again as the low
overhead and independence allowed me to get back to the basics of
sports announcing and go where ever the fans wanted.

Today, we produce sports shows for anyone, anyplace... it's great to
hear about family and friends tuning in from around the globe!
